Pop-Up Booth
A pop-up booth is a knockdown box that packs into a car and sets up in under an hour at a bazaar, a night market, a festival or a campus fair. Guests pay per session and you pay the organiser a stall fee. Income comes in bursts, a month's worth on one good weekend, and the internet is whatever the venue has. This page shows how to set that up in Pixture.
The Setup
1. Pay for the days you work
Use an Event Pass on the booth computer for each event day, or Pix Pro if you go out most weekends. Buy Event Passes ahead on the Devices page. See Plans & Pricing.
2. Take payment at the stall
- Connect a gateway for QR payments, the same as for a fixed booth. See Create a Payment Gateway.
- Put the Online shop link on a sign at the stall: guests buy a session on their phone and get a code the booth accepts even when the venue Wi-Fi is down. See Sell Sessions Online.
- For cash, take it yourself and hand over codes from a voucher batch generated before you leave, with the event date as the Expiration Date. See Take Card, Coin and Cash Payments.
3. Plan for weak internet
Bring a 4G router or a phone hotspot. If the line drops, the booth keeps taking and printing photos and uploads them later. See Offline Mode.
4. Build your following
Keep Link Sharing on and brand the share page, so every guest leaves with your name on their photos. The following you build at pop-ups is what sells event bookings later. See Microsite (Share Page).
5. Learn from each weekend
Compare weekends on the Transactions period filter before committing to a fixed spot or raising prices.
