Getting Started

By the end of this section you have a Pixture account, the Pix Desktop App running on a booth computer that is paired to a booth in your dashboard, and one finished photo session to look at. Nothing here needs a payment.

The Fifteen-Minute Path​

  1. Create your account. Sign up at pixture.io, complete your profile and answer the Quick setup, which also creates your first booth.
  2. Choose your plan. Stay on the free Pix Starter plan, claim the 3-day Pix Pro trial, or put Pix Pro or an Event Pass on the booth computer. You can come back to this at any time.
  3. Install the Pix Desktop App on the Mac or Windows computer that will run the booth.
  4. Pair your first booth. Generate a 6-digit code in the dashboard and type it into the app.
  5. Know your way around the dashboard. A short tour of the sidebar, so you know where prices, templates, health and devices live.
  6. Run your first photo session. Walk through the guest flow once, then find the photos in the Gallery.

What You Need​

  • A Mac on macOS 13 or later, or a Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit) PC. Full details in System Requirements.
  • A camera: a Canon, Sony, Nikon or Fujifilm camera on USB (see Supported Cameras), or a built-in or USB webcam to get going.
  • An internet connection for sign-up, pairing, template sync and QR code sharing. The booth keeps shooting and printing if the connection drops later.
  • Optional: a photo printer so guests leave with a print, and a touchscreen so guests can run the booth on their own.

What Is Free​

Pix Starter costs nothing and has no time limit. It runs the Pix Desktop App on one computer, with the Pixture watermark on every photo, print, GIF and video, and a new account comes with two ready-made print templates and the default screen design, so a booth works minutes after pairing.
