Multi-Booth Studio
A multi-booth studio puts four to eight booths side by side in one unit, each with its own theme or background, with one attendant for all of them. Guests pick a booth the way they would pick a filter. Revenue grows with every booth while rent and staff stay the same, but so does the work: every booth has its own computer, printer and templates to keep in sync. This page shows how Pixture keeps several booths working as one.
How It Makes Money
Guests pay per session, at a counter or at the booth. Packages, extra prints and themed booths priced above the plain one protect the ticket size once other studios open nearby.
The Setup
1. Group the booths
Create a Multi-Booth group under Booths > + New Booth, set How many photo booths?, and set it up once: the group's Templates, UI Project and Settings (pricing) tabs apply to every booth when you click Save for all booths. Each booth is still a normal booth, so a themed booth can have its own templates on top. See Multi-Booth Setup.
2. One computer and one Pix Pro per booth
Each booth is paired to its own computer, and each computer needs its own Pix Pro. Add devices under Devices > Buy license; volume pricing applies as you add more. See Add a Second Computer or Move Pix Pro.
3. One queue, one cashier
- Queue: set up a shared queue for the group and show it on a screen at the venue with Open TV view.
- Cashier: choose Pay at the booth, where each booth shows its own Payment screen, or Central cashier, where guests pay the attendant and get an 8-character code that works at any booth in the group. See Multi-Booth Setup.
4. Studio sessions
Studios often sell time rather than a fixed number of shots: guests get a timed session, take as many photos as they like and pick their favourites for the print. See Run a Studio Mode Session.
5. Share printers and manage the team
- Two booths can share one printer through the computer's printer sharing. See Sharing One Printer Between Booths.
- Give each attendant their own login under Settings > Members with a role that fits their job, instead of sharing yours. See Settings.
6. Compare booths
Filter Transactions, the Dashboard and Health by booth to see which theme earns most and which printer needs attention. With studios in several places, give each booth a Region and filter by it. See Dashboard Home.
Typical Numbers
From the Pixture Photobooth Playbook (September 2026), for four booths in one unit at about US$4 a session: 18 sessions a day per booth brings roughly US$8,640 a month, 25 about US$12,000, and 40 about US$19,200, against around US$35,000 to build and US$4,200 a month in fixed costs. These are estimates; mall rent decides most of the difference.
