Glossary

Terms used in Pixture, explained for photobooth operators, A to Z. New to Pixture? How Pixture Works explains the main pieces and how they fit together in one page.

Additional session

An extra photo session a guest adds to a package at the Payment screen, priced under Additional session price on the booth's Pricing tab.

AI portrait pickup code

A 7-character code a guest receives after buying an AI portrait print from their share page. Typed into the voucher box on the booth's Payment screen, it prints the portrait. Available to beta accounts.

Album

The public page for an event at pixture.io/album/{slug}, showing every photo from all its booths. Turned on with Link Sharing on the event.

Assign photos

The screen in Studio mode where the guest places the shots from their pool into the template's slots: tap a slot, then a photo.

Blocked

A computer on a Pix Pro account that has no place on the subscription and no Event Pass. It stays paired but cannot start a session until you deactivate another computer on the Devices page, use an Event Pass on it or add a device.

Bonus Session

A free second photo session offered right after a paid one, optionally in exchange for a phone number or email. Set up in Marketing Studio > Bonus Session.

Booth

The photobooth guests use at your venue: a computer running the Pix Desktop App, with a touchscreen, a camera and usually a printer. Each booth has its own page in the dashboard, under Booths, with its templates, screen design, pricing, settings and history, connected to its computer once with a pairing code. Booths are free, so create one for every photobooth you run. See How Pixture Works.

Camera

The camera at the booth, connected to the computer by USB: a supported camera body or a webcam. See Supported Cameras.

Capture mode

How a booth captures during an event: Photo, Video or 360 Slow-mo (marked "Soon"). Set on the event's Setup tab; outside an event a booth shoots photos.

Central cashier

A Multi-Booth setting where guests pay one person at a counter and receive an 8-character group code that works at any booth in the group.

Composite

The final image of a photo session: the guest's photos placed into the template with its artwork. It is what prints and what the share page shows first.

Computer

See Device.

Dashboard

Pixture's web app at pixture.io, where you set up booths, design with Pix Design, set prices, connect payments and read your numbers. Works in any browser, including on a phone.

Deactivate

The one action on a computer in the Devices table. It frees that computer's place on your subscription for the next computer that checks in, returns a free trial to your account, and ends an Event Pass.

Device

A computer running the Pix Desktop App, paired to a booth. Pix Pro is bought per device. The Devices page lists your active devices with their booth, first and last seen, version and plan.

Devices page

The dashboard page where you see your active devices, add devices, buy Event Passes, deactivate a computer and manage AI credits. It used to be called Licenses.

Event

A dated job in Events with its own booths, templates, screen design, capture mode, pricing and album. Events run themselves from creation and end the day after their last date.

Event Pass

24 hours of Pix Pro on one computer, $5 or Rp 85.000. Buy any number at any time, at a flat price. Unused Event Passes wait in your account, shown as "N unused" on the Event Passes card of the Devices page. One starts only when you use it at the booth: tap Use Event Pass on the event start screen, or Use an Event Pass on this computer in the operator menu. It ends when the computer is deactivated and cannot be moved.

Extra prints

Additional sheets a guest buys on the Sharing screen, priced under Extra print price on the booth's Pricing tab.

Filter

A colour look the guest picks on the Filter screen. 14 are built in; Pix Pro accounts can upload up to 50 custom .cube files under Pix Design > Photo Filters. The filter is applied to the print, the GIF and the live photo.

Frame Lab

A Marketing Studio feature where guests design and pay for their own frame from a link or QR before their session, then use the code at the booth. Priced per booth. Needs Pix Pro.

GIF overlay

A transparent PNG drawn over every GIF and video a booth makes. Uploaded under Pix Design > GIF/Video overlay and chosen on the booth's Settings tab.

Hardware API

The booth's local interface for coin acceptors, bill validators and keystroke card readers, set up under the operator menu's Hardware API page.

Heartbeat, online

The booth checks in with Pixture every few minutes. A booth shows as Online on the dashboard when it has checked in within the last 12 minutes.

Kiosk

Another word for a booth, the machine guests use. These docs say booth; you may still see "kiosk" in a few dashboard hints and on the event Kiosk UI card.

Live photo

A short video clip recorded around the shot, shared on the share page next to the still.

Live view

The moving camera picture on the booth screen that guests see while posing, before each photo is taken.

Marketing Studio

The Pix Pro tools in the dashboard that turn a photo session into a repeat guest: the consent prompt, Bonus Session, Frame Lab, campaigns and results.

A 4 to 8 digit PIN that locks the booth's operator menu. Set on the booth's Settings tab (Menu PIN) or for the account under Settings > Security > Menu Access PIN.

Microsite

The design of the guest's share page: your logo, colours, fonts, buttons and promo banner. Set under Pix Design > Microsite and applied to every share page from your booths.

Multi-Booth group

Several booths set up together from Booths > + New Booth > Multi-Booth, sharing templates, a screen design, pricing, a queue and a cashier.

Offline queue

Photos and session records waiting on the booth to upload. Shown as Uploads: N waiting in the operator menu footer and in detail under Admin Panel > UPLOAD QUEUE. Network failures retry on their own.

Operator menu

The booth's staff menu, opened by tapping the top-right corner of the screen twice. It holds Start Booth, Camera Settings, Printer Settings, Capture Settings, Hardware API, Admin Panel, Use an Event Pass on this computer, Logout, Exit App and Check for Updates, with the booth name, plan badge and upload status in the footer.

Package

What a guest buys at the Payment screen: Single, Double or Group (four sessions), each with its prints included, priced on the booth's Pricing tab.

Pairing code

A 6-digit code generated on a booth's Device tab in the dashboard and typed into the Pix Desktop App, which connects that computer to that booth. It lasts 10 minutes.

Payment gateway

Your own merchant account (Midtrans, Xendit, DOKU or Stripe) connected under Settings > Payment Gateway so guests can pay by QR at the booth. Pixture takes no share of these payments.

Photo session

One guest's run through the booth: start, payment, template, capture, filter and sharing. The Dashboard, Gallery and Transactions count them.

Photobooth

See Booth.

Pix AI preset, credit

A Pix AI preset is a saved look chosen under Pix Design > Pix AI and assigned to booths. Each generated image costs one credit; credits are shared by every booth. Available to beta accounts.

Pix Design

The design studio in the dashboard: the Template Editor for prints, the UI Editor for booth screens, filters and overlays, the Microsite for the share page, and Pix AI looks. Open to try on Pix Starter; saving your own designs needs Pix Pro.

Pix Desktop App

The Pixture app installed on the booth computer, for Mac and Windows. It runs the guest's screens, drives the camera and printer, takes payments and syncs with the dashboard. Download it from pixture.io/download.

Pix Pro

The paid tier, bought per computer, monthly or yearly. An Event Pass gives 24 hours of it. Clean photos and prints, unlimited templates and UI projects, saving in Pix Design and Marketing Studio, payments at the booth. An account is Pix Pro while any computer has it.

Pix Starter

The free tier. One computer, watermarked photos and prints, no Payment screen. It comes with two ready-made templates and the default screen design. Pix Design is open to try, but creating or saving your own designs needs Pix Pro. Marketing Studio needs Pix Pro.

Pixture

The company and its dashboard at pixture.io. Its products carry the Pix name: Pix Desktop App, Pix Design, Pix Pro, Pix Starter and Pix AI.

Pool

Two meanings. On the Devices page, the unused Event Passes and free subscription places waiting for a computer. In Studio mode, the shots a guest has taken before assigning them to slots.

Print counts in Booth Pricing are always sheets. Print format (Standard, 2 inch cut, Triple strip) only tells the Payment screen how many pieces each sheet becomes.

QRIS

Indonesia's national QR payment standard. Guests pay by scanning the booth's QR with any Indonesian bank or wallet app. Available through Midtrans, Xendit and DOKU, in rupiah only.

Region

A label on a booth (booth Settings > Booth Info > Region) used to filter the Booths list, the Dashboard and Health by location.

Session trigger

What starts a photo session on the Start screen: a tap on the screen, a Start button, a key (F13, Space and others) or a coin or card system. Set on the Start Screen tab of the UI Editor.

Share page

The guest's page at pixture.io/s/{code}, opened from the QR code on the booth's Sharing screen, with their finished photo, single shots, GIF and live photo to download. Its look is set by the Microsite.

Sharing screen

The last screen of a photo session on the booth, with the QR code to the share page, the print, and extra prints to buy.

Stripe Terminal

A Stripe card reader at the booth so guests tap or insert a card. Recommended reader: UX700.

Studio mode

A booth mode where the guest takes free shots, then assigns them to the template's slots. Chosen when creating a UI project; needs Pix Desktop App 1.1.98 or newer.

Template

A print template: artwork with photo slots that the guest's photos are placed into, which becomes the printed photo and the composite. Made in Pix Design > Template Editor and assigned to booths or events.

Template Editor

The part of Pix Design where you build a template from a PNG or JPG: photo slots, Remove BG, QR code and print size.

Template pack

A free bundle from Pixture (print templates, a GIF overlay and a matching booth look) applied to an event with Use this pack.

Trial

3 days of Pix Pro on one computer, once per account, no card. Returns to your pool if you deactivate the computer, and ends for good 3 days after you claimed it.

UI Editor

The part of Pix Design where you build a UI project, every booth screen from the Start Screen to Sharing.

UI project

The screen design: every screen a guest touches, from the Start screen to Sharing, with its buttons, backgrounds and session settings. Made in Pix Design > UI Editor; each booth runs one.

Unpaired mode

The booth running without an account, from Try it without an account on the login screen: built-in frames and screens, watermarked, printing on, no cloud sharing or QR.

Voucher

A code a guest enters on the booth's Payment screen. Four kinds: a single voucher created by hand (free session, fixed amount or percentage), a batch of up to 1000 6-character codes, an online 7-character code bought in the online session shop, and a group code of 8 characters from a central cashier. All verify even when the booth is offline.

Watermarked

A computer with no Pix Pro on an account that has none. It keeps running its booth, and every photo and print carries the Pixture watermark. A computer that loses contact with Pixture while its Pix Pro ends also turns watermarked, with the badge "Pix Pro ended, reconnect to check".
